April 26, 2008 JM Models will be showcasing yet another fabulous and fresh new designer by the name of Lilyana Dryke, owner and designer for the eLDee fashion label. Lilyana’s bright and funny personality comes through in her flirty fun clothes and I had a great time talking with her about fashion, creativity, and shopping during our very insightful interview.

Maeve Kilara: When did you join Second Life?
Lilyana Dryke: one year ago, well about….just one more month and I’ll be celebrating my rezz day

Maeve Kilara: What kinds of things do you enjoy doing here in your free time?
Lilyana Dryke: my favourite pastime is exploring. I especially love to see cool architecture..and love photographing them, and A lot of shopping

Maeve Kilara: I went to your store earlier today, and noticed all the vibrant colors and beautiful patterns you use in your materials. Yet at the same time, its form flattering and feminine. Where do you draw your inspiration from?
Lilyana Dryke: a lot of things, there really isn’t one thing i can sort of point at. But usually it starts with a pattern or a color I notice somewhere…I’d say almost anything can inspire me.

Maeve Kilara: How long have you been creating clothes?
Lilyana Dryke: I did my first bit of clothing around August/September last year. I had no intention of opening a store at the time though

Maeve Kilara: Of all the designs in your store right now, Which would you say is your favorite and why?
Lilyana Dryke: oooh,..that’s difficult. I would say Fleur is one of my favourite, Especially Fleur Berry. I also love the Kiki outfits.

Maeve Kilara: What is it you love so much about them?
Lilyana Dryke: I love Fleur, cause when I started doing it I really had no idea I was gonna end up with it, yet it turned out really cute, and it’s like this cute little floaty dress, very feminine, And I love wearing it. For Kiki, I think it’s cause the texturing turned out nice and it looks very chic. And I like the color play on the Kiki outfits.

Maeve Kilara: As a designer in Second Life, what are a few fashion tips you think women inworld might benefit from?
Lilyana Dryke: Well, since SL is a world of fantasy, I’d say, don’t try to be safe when it comes to fashion. It’s fun to experiment different styles. The important thing is you are comfortable and having loads of fun.

Maeve Kilara: Do you have any tips for new designers starting out in Second Life?
Lilyana Dryke: I would say, it’s very easy to learn all the tips and tricks, if you are willing to work and learn. And there are loads of fabulous SL groups as well as tutorials out there to help you.

I’m back!! It has been a while since my last post hope you all did’nt miss me all too much. Today I have an eccentric boho outfit, with some new stuff from Muism. The colors in this outfit, are not matching per se, but hey that’s why I described it as eccentric. There is nothing wrong with not matching, as long as you keep in mind ideas about complimentary colors.

I figure i’ll start with the two items that inspired me for this outfit. These Muism pants i saw right off the bat when i landed there the other day. The cool stripe down the sides of the pant kind of remind me of Han Solo, and i still think he dressed pretty well. Also the pants have Sculptie cuffs, thank you muism, finally. The scarf, in silver here, is also new at Muism, and comes in several colors. The shoes are hoorenbeek dockers, well detailed sculptie shoes, I found out about not too long ago. I’d been lookin for an outfit i could wear these Armidi Cardigans wthout an undershirt, and I just may have :)

This outfit, although the textures are great, and it is very well detailed still, i think, has a bit of slouch to it, not too made up, comfortable and cool for a night out in the late spring.

Pants and Scarf - Muism

Cardigan – Armidi

Shoes – Hoorenbeek

Hair – Truth

It was another successful Saturday afternoon show at JM Models Fashion House. On display was the FTV-Frozen Turquoise Valentine fashion label created by gorgeous and talented designer Valenttina Carfagno. The crowd at the show was nearing sim capacity as they watched the JM Supermodels glide down the runway putting on a glorious display of Valenttina’s creations.

Half way through the show SL ‘glitches’ got the better of the JM Supermodels and caused a few rezz and lag issues but they prevailed, quickly using their expertise and well thought out battle plan to get back in to the show and start it off again with calm and graceful demeanours.

Below are a few pictures of the JM Supermodels in todays fashion show…

JM Models will be hosting a fabulous fashion show for the talented designer Valenttina Carfagno, owner and creator for Frozen Turquoise Valentine. I was fortunate enough to grab her from her busy day to get a quick pic with this lovely lady and to ask her a few questions.

Maeve Kilara: When did you join Second Life?
Valenttina Carfagno: Almost a Year now… back in May, last year.

Maeve Kilara: What kinds of things do you enjoy doing here in your free time?
Valenttina Carfagno: Now a days it’s just hanging out with friends, shopping.. Now that i design clothes i drove my shopping focus to hair and shoes… hehe and of course modeling…. It’s lots of fun for me. Scary sometimes… but fun

Maeve Kilara: When I visited your store, I was impressed by how well it was laid out. The feminine decor and the way that the garments were displayed created a very relaxed and classy atmosphere. What would you say has been your biggest source of inspiration in your designs?
Valenttina Carfagno: I have to say My biggest source of inspiration is RL, the people I see and their styles, movies, tv…. i like to see lots and lots of new things and come up with things… like a puzzle.

Maeve Kilara:How long have you been designing clothes in Second Life?
Valenttina Carfagno:Back since late October…

Maeve Kilara: What inspired you to begin designing?
Valenttina Carfagno: I have always felt passion for clothing designing and when I came to SL saw tons of opportunities to express my creativity… so i took this branch since it was my favorite.

Maeve Kilara: If you had to chose a favorite gown or outfit, which would it be?
Valenttina Carfagno: Wow… That is hard…. I think my first favorite one was Carolina and the one you are wearing… Paris.

Maeve Kilara: What is the one accessory you try to never leave your house without?
Valenttina Carfagno: Great Shoes!

Maeve Kilara: What is the main thought or feeling that you would like every lady that shops at your store to have as she leaves with her purchase?
Valenttina Carfagno: That she is shopping quality clothing that is stylish and that makes her feel fabulous.

Maeve Kilara: Thank you Valenttina for your time today and giving us a brief insight into your world as a designer and your inspiration for your designs.

Glitz! Glam! and a whole lotta Pizazz! at the JM Models fashion show featuring Alchemy & Angels. Designers, Isobel DeSantis and Constanza Volare, are amazingly talented women and their new line was a reflection of their own pieces of art. The featured designs were classy & chic, yet could be dressed down for any occasion. The talented JM Supermodel beauties strutted down the catwalk, showcasing each item as if it was the most spectacular item in their line-up to showcase. Featured above are samples of the gorgeous dresses Constanza created and the most adorable and wear-with-everything shoes Isobel created. The show was a true example of a well crafted fashion show. CEO Jewell Munro and President KandieKane Laval manifested a show that ensured that the Alchemy & Angels designs where shown the way it needed to be shown, with class and beauty. Please join the JM Models crew at our next fashion exhibit this week. Until then, take some time and stop by the Alchemy & Angels store and dress yourself in the outfits and shoes like the models shown above are wearing.

Diamond Florets

Hola! I am Aliyeh Yifu, JM Supermodel, presenting Purple Rose Jewelry item of the week.
I will post new items each week for all those Fashion Divas, Goth Beauties, and Neko
Radicals to have a peek at. Purple Rose caters to all avatars in SL, not just the Fashion
Divas. So have a look!

Magically crafted, intertwined with eccentric beauty that captures every moment of
artistic creativity, Purple Rose Jewelry continues to amaze me. Purple Rose owner Storm Babeli is shy, modest, caring, and above all genuine to all those who come onto contact with her.

The first set that I am pictured wearing is called Diamond Florets. In this ensemble, I
have changed the color of the shiny gems to lavenderblush. Each piece is scripted with
color changing options, bling off, bling on features as well as many other options to make the set fit your individuality.

The second set that I am pictured wearing is called Celestial Black. This set can be
dressed up as well as fit into any wardrobe that would contain Goth. Like the set above, this set is also scripted with all the options as above to enhance any avatars inner beauty to
allow it to radiant out to the eyes of others.

As you can see, each set it very different yet presents a simple, sassy, and mystical
realm that demands attention. Purple Rose Jewelry is on JM Models Designer Corner. These pieces should be out in the main Purple Rose sim store here within the next few days.
I hope that you enjoy them as much as I do. Stay tuned for more beautiful items from
Purple Rose! Ciao ^.~ *Click on above photos to gaze at sets closer*

DO YOU LIKE PLAIDS? Well I sure do; I like them in shirts, I ilke them in pants, shorts, boxers, I even like them in sneakers! So today lets take a closer look at the Chess Winter Set from AC Studios…

Winter Chess Set

Photographs by Sebastiaan Vollmar

Here we go with a cool ensemble that features a great green and red plaid button down overshirt in a rich eye-catching texture sure to turn heads. This outfit comes with a great pair of blue jean shorts to the knee that are just faded enough to look and feel comfy. Nicely textured with great pockets and fine details these shorts are versatile and you no doubt, like me, will be wearing them with all your favorite shirts or barechested on the beach.

Under the plaid overshirt is a white long sleeve sweater that comes with an oversized prim collar. It’s just the right thing to set off the plaids in the top shirt. The final piece is a black scarf complete with an AC Studios medallion that looks hot at the throat. This outfit looks just as great without the prim collar and scarf, giving it a versatility that few other ensembles might have.

I choose a pair of great red and green tartan sneakers from SF Design – just the right touch to pull everything together from head to toe.

Don’t be hating because I look so great! You can have everything worn here, and much more, at the stores listed below:

Shoes: SF Design – Red Tartan Sneakers
